The Daley Trade Fresh Market
A new twist on cafe
Right in the heart of historic downtown Titusville, FL sits this unassuming little corner store front called The Daley Trade. To be honest. We could not be happier! One step inside the door and you will find yourself in a charming panaderia rich with the sights and smells of freshly baked breads. But I promised you a new twist on cafe, didn’t I? Keep reading!
Their Story
Owner and baker Terrence Aloysious Daley is a Culinary Institute of America graduate. He has worked in some of the finest restaurants in the country and he has been a Personal Chef on yachts and in private homes. But he and his wife Laura faced the same thing we all did in 2020. The many changes brought about by a global pandemic. And what did we all do during the lock down? We made bread!
Over his extensive career, Terrence made all shapes and sizes of fresh, hand-crafted pasta as well as breads and other baked goods. With a little nudge and a few curve balls along way, Terrence and Laura opened The Daley Trade!
The front is a market filled with freshly baked breads, pastas, sauces, international chocolates and much much more! But if you have the time, you should choose to dine-in in their sunny and airy glass room!
The Food
Favorite thing about The Daley Trade #1: Tapas and Small Plates!
If you are familiar with tapas, skip to the next paragraph. For a lot of people in the states, this is not a familiar word. Tapas is a Spanish word that refers to small savory dishes or appetizers typically served with beer or wine. And they can be combined to make a meal! (As I like to do!) In a lot of cases, tapas have been elevated to become quite a sophisticated affair!
Enter The Daley Trade. They have a fantastic selection of items here! Choose from their signature sourdough bread, Spanish Marcona almonds, create your own charcuterie, and the chef’s specials.
These specials change each week to reflect the season and the freshest local ingredients. Those peaches below? The brûléed peaches served over a honey vanilla whipped ricotta…chef’s special only available during the height of our local peach season! And they were delicious!
What’s the current chef’s special? Good question! You should visit and find out! Because this is only part of new twist on cafe I promised. The other part…
Wine. Not Coffee
I know, right!
Listen, I love coffee. One might say I’m a teeny bit obsessed with coffee. But let’s face it. There is no shortage of great coffee houses. Our post on the Top 5 Coffee Shops in Titusville proves that point!
You know what I also love? Rare and special places like The Daley Trade!
Favorite thing about The Daley Trade #2: One of the things that makes The Daley Trade so special, is that they have a uniquely curated selection of wines that you can order by the glass or the bottle. Sometimes by the can! Their wine list is filled with natural and biodynamic wines that you won’t find anywhere else! And if wine isn’t your thing, they have an equally great selection of beers from their favorite breweries and non-alcoholic beverages to choose from.
Favorite thing about The Daley Trade #3: It is their wish that you bring your laptop, tablet, favorite, book, and/or group of friends, order yourself a glass of wine and linger. Take the afternoon. Have conversations. Allow yourself to live simply and completely in the moment. Just slow down and breathe. How luxurious is that?!
A new twist on cafe indeed!
Well, what did I tell you! The Daley Trade is gem that you need to add to your collection! Check them out on Instagram and their website, or just drop in for a visit. You won’t regret it!
