Pint & Pistol: A Range & Restaurant You Won’t Want to Miss
Little known fact…I’m a huge fan of the sport of shooting! I just really enjoy it! It is the most zen sport I have ever participated in! And I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out. In order to do it well, you have to relax, slow your breathing, focus on your heartbeat, close out the rest of the world and train your eyes on a tiny speck until it’s all you see. Right!?!
Really Important Fact™… I have done all of this under highly controlled circumstances at ranges under expert supervision.
Enter Pint & Pistol
Pint & Pistol is a 3-in-1 dream right here in Brevard County for shooting enthusiasts of all levels! And it’s a little off the beaten path, so you may not know about it! Go there to shop, go there to shoot, go there to eat, or, my personal recommendation…do all three! (I know the question you’re asking: Should we really be drinking and shooting? Keep reading! I’ve got your answer!) Let’s see if you agree with the title of this post: Pint & Pistol: A Range & Restaurant You Won’t Want to Miss.
1. Fantastic Retail Store
The first thing I have to talk about is The Pint & Pistol retail store. Even if you don’t plan to shoot, I highly recommend browsing through their wide variety firearms and accessories. Talk to the incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff, ask questions! They are there to help you and their enthusiasm for education is evident!
They also have a gunsmith available for a range of services! Like if your firearm needs adjustments, installs, or cleaning. When Niccole and I were in the range, we discovered that her optic was slightly off and needed to be sighted in. The gunsmith was available and was able to perfect the optic in under 15 minutes! Check out this link for the services offered!
And it’s not just firearms here folks! They have a nice selection of less-than-lethal personal protection items available along with shirts, hats, tumblers…Stop in and take a look. It is worth it!
2. State of the Art Shooting Range
I’ve been to a few ranges in my time, and the Shooting Range at Pint & Pistol does not disappoint! Pint & Pistol has 3 bays (two 25 yard, one 35 yard tactical bay) with a total of 19 lanes in this indoor range. Each lane is equipped with a digital, fully programable target carrier and the LongShot camera system that allows you to zoom in on your target for easier adjustments! You can rent lanes for 30 minutes or 1 hour and can add up to 2 others to your lane for $10 each!
There is always a Range Safety Officer in each bay ensuring that conditions remain safe and that everyone is following the range rules. (Click here for a complete list of the range rules) And they are there to answer any questions you may have! This is a safe, judgement-free zone!
If you have never handled a firearm, but have always wanted to learn, let them know and one of the Range Safety Officers will assist you! Even though Niccole and I both have experience, we rented 2 firearms that we were not familiar with. The RSO was happy to give us a thorough run down of the mechanics specific to each so that we felt comfortable operating them.
Classes and Training Available!
There are loads of classes and training opportunities available, so be sure to check their website, and the flyers at check-in. I want to check out A Girl & a Gun held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. Maybe I’ll see you there!
3. The Restaurant & Bar
Have you ever visited a (mostly?) scratch restaurant connected to a shooting range? Me neither! At least, not until I visited the Pint & Pistol Restaurant!
The first choice you’ll have to make…sit indoors with the ac and tv screens or outdoors in the biergarten with the fresh air and family games? Whichever you choose, you’re right!
This hometown restaurant & bar has 24 beers on tap, 35 wines to choose from, brunch served until 1 pm, daily specials, kids eat free (on Wednesdays), special events (like free axe throwing!)…the list goes on! Even if you don’t plan to visit the shooting range, stop on by for a fantastic meal. Follow them on Facebook to stay up to date with weekly specials and events! Check out their menu below, or click here for the Full Menu.
4. The Answer to Your Question!
Alright folks, the answer you have been waiting for!
So your question is this: “Should we really be drinking and shooting?”
The answer: “Absolutely not. Not under any circumstances!”
Pint & Pistol has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to mixing alcohol and firearms. So then, how does that work? I’m glad you asked, I’d love to tell you!
When you visit the range, they will ask to see your hands before they will clear you to enter the bay. Why? They are looking for the ultraviolet stamp above.
When you visit the Pint & Pistol Restaurant, you will receive a hand stamp before you’re seated. This lets the RSOs know you’ve been there. If you order a drink from the bar, the bartender will give you one of these wristbands when they give you your drink.
No drink? No problem! The person checking you in at the range will snag your server and confirm that no alcohol was served to the table. That’s right, THE WHOLE TABLE! Because there is no guarantee that someone else didn’t take a sip. If someone at your table ordered a drink, no range time for the lot of you!
My recommendation: shoot then eat. That makes things easier for everyone! But if you do decide to eat then shoot, make sure to let everyone at your table know that this is an alcohol-free table! (You can stop back in for drinks after!)
The Verdict: Pint & Pistol is a Range & Restaurant You Won't Want to Miss
