Golfing and Dining at The Great Outdoors Golf Resort
Are you looking for a great way to get out and enjoy the beauty and tasty dishes of Florida? It sounds like you need a a day of golfing and dining and perhaps a sail for your trip! If you’re a fan of golfing, cruising, and eating, you can’t go wrong with this delicious and fun getaway idea that is perfect for a day trip or an awesome extended weekend.
The Great Outdoors Golf Club
Golfing is pretty great. But the course at The Great Outdoors Golf Club is about to spoil you and change everything that you thought you knew about the game. (and don’t worry – they might have “club” in their name but they ARE open to the public!)
Don’t let the guard shack at the entrance scare you away. Just smile, tell him or her that you’re there to play a round of golf, and that’s all you have to do. This is actually a really great place to play a game of golf because a lot of the locals don’t even know that it’s open to the public!
Even though this course might be a “hidden gem”, it’s still a good idea to call ahead and reserve a tee time. You don’t want to show up and not be able to get in a game!
We were so impressed by the greenery and how lush and beautiful everything was during our time touring the course. We even saw a few alligators along the way! I was NOT prepared for that but it was actually pretty cool to see. (and of course, I made certain to keep a safe distance)
Things to do at The Great Outdoors Golf Club
I can assure you that once you arrive, you really don’t have a reason to leave until you’re ready to go home.
Hit some balls at the Aqua Golf Driving Range
First off, their driving range is NICE. Secondly, it’s literally the only Aqua Golf Driving Range within a 45-mile radius. And the best part? You don’t need reservations to drop in. You just tell the guard at the entrance that you’re there for the driving range and grab a bucket of balls from the pro shop.
There’s no set time limit on how long you can be at the driving range and a bucket of balls will cost you only $4. Life is good, right?!
Grab a bite to eat at the Blue Herron
Sit out on their deck and enjoy the views. You can enjoy a casual dining experience with a huge variety of dishes. On the menu you’ll find everything from salads to grilled fish, burgers to coconut shrimp – and the list can go on and on.
Everything that we ate, we loved. (and I’m still craving the taste of their burger!)
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu at the Blue Herron.
After a day of golfing and dining, what could be better than a day spent on the sea? Check out Sail Cocoa Beach to find out how you can enjoy a day at sea.
